Kitty was dumped into a colony of tom cats in bridgeport. The feeder posted that she was very concerned about his eye, seemed closed with discharge. He had gotten beaten up badly, unable to fend for himself. His bony flea infested body was covered in small scractches that were scabbing over. I offered the fund, called ahead - but he wouldn't go into the traps being tried. After a few days, he finally went into a drop trap, was transported to CT Vet Center was was seen by Dr. Vargoshe.

It was determined that he had corneal ulcers (large scratches and inflammation) in his left eye.  He was given basic shots, SNAP tested (neg), treated with Revolution, and had signs of ear mites. His neuter became a little complicated because Dr. Cox discovered that he was cryptorchid, with a testicle descended into his back leg! This required a more complicated sugery than a typical neuter. I found a foster home and a rescue for him.  He went to his foster home with eye drops to be put in every 4 hours as well as ointment 2x day. With the frequency of his eye drops, he needed to be in a setting where someone was available 24 7.

It was soon discovered he also had worms, so he was given Panacur and Metronidazole.  He didn't like the meds at all, but his foster mom did such a great job with the meds that at his 1 week recheck, drops could be discontinued and he was cleared to go to his rescue, the Simon Foundation! He'll have a 1 week recheck at the vet that his rescue will bring him to and then he will exit 'the fund' as a patient! He's settling in nicely at his rescue and enjoying his favorite thing - press up treats - which they use to distract him during medication application!
