Hoover Before & After
Hoover Before & After

Hoover, started with a few nicknames until he found his forever home. He was found in a home garage seeking shelter, by a local West Hartford resident on the hottest week of the year in 2024. This good samaritan posted on Facebook after not receiving local help, asking what to do. In the meantime, they went to the local pet store to get a litter box, and some local neighbors donated food. The cat came back, it was emaciated, and severely dehydrated with a scratched face, and you could barely see his eyes. The original finder had two large dogs and couldn't keep the cat in the garage to get them the care they needed but provided food and water and shelter until they could find a better option.

Another local neighbor on a facebook group, who was a cat owner, helped rescue the cat and took him to the local vet. On this group is also where they found our Medical Community Fund, and with the help of donations from other good samaritans, and local small businesses, Hoover was able to get life-saving medical care.

The vet informed us that this cat was only 1 years old, and was indeed extremely dehydrated and not doing well and wasn't sure he would make it through treatment.

By some miracle and a supportive community, Hoover pulled through and was then adopted by the rescuer's mother. Now he is THRIVING, his eyes and coat are bright and beautiful, the difference in how he looks brings tears to the eyes of all who first found him. It's truly a miracle what some strangers and support can do. Just look at these before & afters!
